Two new food inspection laboratories

FAO offers cooler vehicles for carrying food samples for inspection

July 13, 2011- Minister of Agriculture Hussein Hajj Hassan said the Ministry will work to improve the condition of agricultural laboratories that belong to the Ministry or those which have cooperation agreements with the public sector.

Hajj Hassan said the Ministry would soon receive from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) cooler vehicles for carrying food samples to laboratories for inspection. He also said that two laboratories would be set up at Beirut's airport and seaport.

Hajj Hassan said food safety and security remain the main objective for the Ministry of Agriculture.
