July 15, 2011 – The first phase of Waterfront City, the landmark project to line the Joseph Khoury Marina in Dbayeh, was launched on July 12.

The project is located approximately 15km north of Beirut, will include residential, commercial, and leisure facilities.
Waterfront City will unfold in four phases, over an estimated 15 years, but the date of the completion of phase one is planned for mid-2014. The initial phase of the project will include 7 buildings, offering 270 apartments, a promenade with cafes, restaurants, and a retail zone. Sales are already open for interested customers.

The project covers a total area of over 193,600 square meters. Once completed, the project will comprise over 5,000 residential units of varying sizes, a commercial district, with an shopping mall and dining and entertainment options, as well as a hotel chain.

Waterfront City is a product of a joint collaboration between Société Joseph G. Khoury et Fils Holding and Emirati developer Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

Majid Al Futtaim is one of leading developers of shopping malls, hotels, and mixed-use community projects across the Middle East and North Africa region. It has undertaken the establishment of the prominent Mall of the Emirates, and it is currently developing the City Center in Hazmieh.

The project is part of a one million square meter reclamation project completed in 1997. The neighbors of the project include La Marina Joseph Khoury and the Exhibition Centre.
