Air France launches Beirut-Marseille flight

Three direct flights each week, prices starting $399 round trip

July 20, 2011- Air France announced it would operate three direct flights between Beirut and Marseille each week starting October 2nd, 2011.

The French airliner said Beirut - Marseille - Beirut flights are scheduled every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, with prices starting $399 round trip including taxes.

The new route proposed by Air France is part of a plan to launch cheap medium-haul flights from French provincial cities in a bid to boost passenger figures and reclaim market share from low-cost carriers.

Air France said, in a statement last week, that it would operate 13 new direct flights, three in France, seven in Continental Europe, and three in the Mediterranean region (Beirut, Casablanca and Istanbul).
