Economic and Social Council chief calls for all-inclusive employment strategy

July 26, 2011- The head of the Economic and Social Council, Roger Nasnas, called for implementing a comprehensive employment policy.

Nasnas was addressing a meeting during the General Assembly of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS 2011) held on July 21, 22, and 23 in Rome, Italy.

While there are no specific measuring standards for unemployment in the country, estimates have put unemployment rates at 15 percent after the July war of 2006 and at eight percent in 2008.
