A new major indoor amusement park, called ‘KidzMania’, is set to open in Beirut in 2012.

The educational-entertainment theme park is located in Beirut’s downtown area, behind BIEL center. It will occupy an area of 4,200 square meters. The ground breaking ceremony was held last September. The park will be open for visitors by late August 2012.

The concept of KidzMania is to create a kid-sized replica of the city. Children, aged between two and 14, can choose their favorite adult careers and act them out through various role-playing activities. The park will also include a child-sized fire station, police station, hospital, bank, theatre, and flight simulator.

The $20 million-project is fully-owned by a new company, established by two Lebanese investors, the owner of Kaztel & Kazma Trading, Ali Kazma, and Hind Berri, daughter of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and founder of Kzone Outdoor Advertising Group.

The management of the project aims to introduce the edutainment concept to schools. Partners on the project also plan to franchise KidzMania in the Gulf States, with a focus on Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
