Beirut City Centre will bring around 40 brands to the local retail market, according to the mall developers Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Properties. The City Centre is set to host a total of 200 stores spread over 60,000 square meters of retail space.

Beirut City Centre, located in Hazmieh, is on-schedule for opening in early 2013. The $300 million-project is MAF Properties' first shopping mall development in Lebanon.

According to MAF Properties, Beirut City Centre will have employed around 2,500 people during the construction phase. The regional developer said that an additional 1,200 permanent retail positions will be created once the Beirut City Centre is open.

"Beirut City Centre will foster growth within the local economy and specifically the retail sector, offering a compelling new shopping, leisure, and social experience for residents in the surrounding community," said Waddah El Solh, Country Head - Levant of MAF Properties.

Construction on Beirut City Centre commenced September 2009. ‎
