A new shopping and leisure center is being developed in the Tayyouneh area. The Tayyouneh Mall, facing the Beirut Mall, will be up and running by September 2014. The mall is owned by BA United Holding, a local construction and contracting group.

The development is estimated to cost some $30 million, according to Tarek Hassan, project manager at Dolmen Contracting, developers of the project and a subsidiary of BA Holding.

With 45,000 square meters of built-up space, the mall will have a gross leasable area (GLA) of 20,000m2. It will have four floors of retail space, and seven underground parking levels. The mall will have retail stores, restaurants, and movie theatres.

BA United Holding group is chaired and managed by its main shareholder, Bassam Asaad. The group owns and operates the Saida Mall, which was launched earlier this year. It is also developing a major mall in Choueifat that will be launched by 2015.
