The chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture in Lebanon and Algeria recently signed an agreement to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, notably in the areas of trade and industrial activity.

The memo strives to facilitate commercial transactions and encourage joint economic events. It also encourages the exchange of experience by supporting visits by business delegations and their participation in high-profile exhibitions held in their respective countries.

According to Mohamad Choucair, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon, the value of local exports to Algeria in 2012 was about $27 million, while imports from there are very low.
