The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon will hold the ‘Lebanese week in Jeddah’ exhibition between April 5 and 9, 2014.

Minister of Industry Vrej Sabonjian said the Ministry will offer local industries financial support to help them participate in the exhibition.

Industrial exports saw an increase in the first nine months of 2013. Arab markets sought alternative sources for products they used to export from Syria before the conflict. According to Nicolas Nahas, Minister of Economy and Trade, this could encourage growth in the industrial sector.

“We encourage a wide participation by private institutions to make the exhibition a success and gather support for the local industry,” said Elie Rizk, head of the committee handling relations between the chambers of commerce in Beirut and Jeddah.

Mazen Batterjee, Vice President of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said “a lot of Lebanese companies export their knowhow to Saudi Arabia where they can benefit from financial support.”
