Wilco PM, a poultry and meat agricultural company, will construct a feed mill production facility, a poultry farm, and a chicken slaughterhouse in Chekka.

Tony Boutros, Production Manager of Wilco PM, said: “We are expanding to meet increasing demand for chicken ready-food products, as well as to acquire a larger market share.”

The investment in the project has already reached $20 million, and is expected to increase by another $10 million by the end of completion of the project. The factories will be opened gradually during 2014 and early next year. They will create about one hundred jobs.

“The new factories will triple our production capacity,” said Boutros. The production capacity of the new feed mill factory will reach 30 tons per hour. The capacity of the slaughterhouse will reach 6,000 chickens per hour, and the farm will stretch over 12,000 square meters.

The production capacity of the factory currently totals 2,300 chickens per hour. The factory produces about 8,700 tons of chicken annually. About 3,400 tons of live chicken are sold to other factories.

The factory will comprise new production lines for chicken ready-food such as nuggets and escalope.

The factories will be fully automated, and equipped with quality laboratories to examine daily products and water.
