Cablevision, one of the authorized local cable distributors, has announced on June 18 that it has reached an agreement with Sama, to broadcast in HD World Cup games without additional cost to subscribers. Cablevision will pay fees to Sama. Sama is a local company with exclusive rights to broadcast the World Cup from ‘BeIn Sports’.

Cablevision said in a statement that the agreement between the government committee and Sama, allowing local audience to watch the games for free, came in favor of neighborhood cable providers, and subscribers to landline cables. Digital coded broadcasting companies, one of which is Cablevision, are not included in that agreement.
