A project to reduce power consumption by using a combination of clean renewable energy at Our Lady of Lebanon-Harissa will be completed this October.

“We are helping with the power management of the renewable energy installations,” said Fadi el Chiti, Sales and Marketing Manager at Phoenix Energy and Machinery, the INDEVCO Group subsidiary that is handling the project.

The $500,000 project will shift the basilica to modern technology of lighting and heating that will reduce carbon emissions drastically and reach $80,000 in annual energy savings.

The installation of photovoltaic panels, operating on solar power, will supply sustainable electricity to all of the Harissa sanctuary with the parking lot and entrance to be equipped with LED lights.
