The Gems Hotel, a furnished apartment complex in Hamra, will be launched in April 2015.

The Sinjaba real estate group purchased the now closed Palladium Center building on Makdessi Street in 2009 for $10 million, according to Moughir Sinjaba, architect and co-owner.

The location is central given that the company plans to target AUB and LAU students for this project, according to Sinjaba.

Estimated at 1,000 square meters, the Gems Hotel will consist of seven above ground floors, a ground floor and five underground levels, when completed. The total built-up area of 10,000 m2 will include 88 rooms and suites. It will also have seven leasable retail stores and a 1,000 m2 theater that seats 800 and has its own entrance.

“The Ministry of Tourism ranked our furnished apartments as a three-star property,” Sinjaba said. The company may consider applying for certification by Bureau Veritas in the future.
