Electronics and home appliances retailer Abed Tahan is adding three new outlets to its six-branch network.

The first outlet in the expansion plan is a 3,000 square meter branch on the Zouk highway, and The One, an Ikea-like concept, which opened last December. The joint venture between Tahan and Issam Choucair, Bo Concept owner, includes a 12,000 m2 building leased for 22 years and a $6 million investment in refurbishment costs.

Abed Tahan will also invest $2 million in a 2,600 m2 branch in Tyr, to open next February. It will consist of a 2,000 m2 showroom and 600 m2 warehouse. “There is a lot of demand in Tyr, which is still underserved and this makes it an attractive destination for us,” said CEO Toufic Tahan.

The company will launch a new store under a different brand name, specialized in kitchen and bathroom appliances. Abed Tahan invested $800,000 in the 1,500 m2 store, which will open in Jnah.
