The Lebanese Association for Habilitation and Rehabilitation will break ground on its ‘Peace City’ rehabilitation center next week.

Dora Makary, Director of the Association, said: “The project to be established in the Ashash town of Zgharta aims at helping kids between the age 12 and 15.”

The $5 million project consists of a boarding school for 300 boys and 300 girls, infirmary free clinic, and a rehabilitation center.

The land, which was leased from the Maronite Church, has an area of 10,000 square meters and will include volleyball, football, and basketball courts, with aesthetic green spaces all around.

The project is being carried out with the support of the Internal Security Forces’ engineering department, which supplied the preliminary design.

Contractors have not been appointed yet. The municipality will handle the excavation works.

Parents can enroll their children at Peace City for free. Expenses will be handled by the Ministry of Interior and by community donations.
