The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) opened the Minyeh Public Hospital in North Lebanon, on February 23. The hospital was established through a $6.5 million grant from Kuwait, including 40 beds.

The ministry also inaugurated a new department in the Tripoli public hospital comprising 40 beds for patients suffering from pulmonary diseases, as well an intensive care room for children. The MoPH said that it will increase the financial ceiling offered to the hospital to reach $6 million per year.

Another 40 beds were added to the Orange Nassau public hospital in Tripoli. Wael Abou Faour, Minster of Public Health, said that the 120 beds that were added to the public hospitals in Tripoli were necessary to help in meeting the increased medical needs in this region.
