Rasamny Younis Motor Co. (RYMCO) is the distributor of Nissan’s Datsun, with a first shipment of about 300 cars, said Jade Ayoub, RYMCO’s Marketing Manager.

Nissan halted production of Datsun in 1986, re-launching it in 2013. Lebanon will be the fifth country in the world to import the Datsun brand after its re-launch, Ayoub said.

The cars, manufactured by AvtoVAZ in Russia, are distributed through RYMCO’s Nissan showrooms, Ayoub said. AvtoVAZ, better known by its trade name Lada, is 67 percent owned by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Lada is also distributed by RYMCO.

The first shipment includes a hatchback of the automatic mi-DO model, selling at $11,500 (including VAT). Also included is both the automatic and manual on-DO sedan, selling at $11,800 and $10,800 respectively. Both vehicles have 1.6-liter engine and include ABS braking systems.

RYMCO also distributes Infiniti and GMC cars. It sells Renault and UD trucks, as well as Kawasaki and Peugeot scooters.
