The Municipality of Saida will invite tenders to bid in the coming weeks for a Build Operate Transfer contract (BOT) of a hotel on Saida’s seafront.

The hotel will be constructed on a 60,000 square meter (m2) plot that is owned by the municipality.

Mohamad Seoudi, the Mayor of Sidon, said that the property will be named Sidon Hotel, which is the same name of a hotel that once stood on the same spot years ago.

Seoudi said that the hotel will include 100 rooms, as well as restaurants, halls, conference rooms, a small mall, and a resort.

Seoudi said that the company that wins the bid will operate the hotel for a period of time before transferring it to the municipality.

Investment required for building the hotel is estimated at $20 million and is expected to be complete in 2019.
