$26 million added to humanitarian assistance

The Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF), a multi-donor fund managed by the UN, is working to implement 50 projects worth $26 million, according to the Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden have contributed a sum of $11.5 million, in addition to a residual amount of $18.5 million carried over from the previous year.

The implemented projects are spread over an extensive range of sectors, mainly Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). It has received $6.4 million, shelter and non-food items ($6.1 million), protection ($5.3 million), and multi-sector ($3 million).

LHF’s 40 partners are executing the projects. The $26 million constitutes some 2.6 percent of Lebanon Crisis Response Plan’s (LCRP) 2016 budget.
