The Lebanese American University (LAU), the fashion designer Elie Saab, and the London College of Fashion (LCF) signed a partnership to apply international standards of the fashion design program at the LAU campus in Beirut.
Saab said: “The vision behind LAU’s fashion design program was to offer the region’s students an education of the highest possible international standards without having to travel too far from home.” He said this step will help create a regional hub for the region’s talented designers in Lebanon.
The LCF will oversee the implementation of the program by delivering curriculum consultancy and quality assurance services to the LAU.
The LCF’s expertise will provide LAU students with an academic degree in fashion design, in line with international practices.
The LAU had launched the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design program in March 2013, in collaboration with Elie Saab. The inaugural class enrolled this September, 2013.
