St. John Medical Center
to open in Jounieh
To provide general medical services

St. John Medical Center (SJMC), a new hospital will open in Jounieh. Construction works were launched and are expected to be completed in early 2016.
The Congregation of Lebanese Maronite Missionaries, which owns the project, received a grant from Qatar to establish the hospital.
Construction costs will reach $15 million and “Investment in medical equipment will exceed $5 million,” according to Abdo Sayyah, Project Manager of Generic Engineering Technology, the company executing the project.
The total built-up area of the hospital will reach 7,000 square meters. It will consist of three floors and a basement with 40 beds in total, for general medical services and surgical operations.
SJMC is expected to create one hundred jobs in the initial stage of operation.
