Charlie Group, the mother company of Charlie Taxi, has opened two branches, one in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the other in Paris, France.
Gilbert Abu Harb, managing director of Charlie Group, said: “We came up with a projection for the next few years to expand internationally and develop a technological platform that improves our operations.”
Charlie Taxi purchased half of its fleet and integrated the rest to operate 75 cars in Dubai. In Paris, it operates 30. The two new branches bring the total number of vehicles operated by Charlie Group to 305.
The $3 million expansion will include the installation of meters in all taxis. The meter would start at zero and cost $1 per kilometer, within Beirut. “The meters will help lower our prices, which makes our services more affordable to our clients,” said Abu Harb.
The company earned its ISO 9001 certification for management, two weeks ago. “The consultancy was given by ISO Liban and we are hoping to achieve other certifications,” said Abu Harb.
The Group employs 500, locally and worldwide. It is planning another branch for Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Nicosia (Cyprus) within the year.
