July 28, 2011- LIBNOR, the Lebanese Standards Institution, held a national stakeholders workshop in collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The workshop was conducted by ISO Expert, Graham Holloway.
LIBNOR’s acting General Director, Lina Dergham, said it is vital to have an infrastructure for quality, so as to ensure the safety of both the citizen and the environment. Dergham said LIBNOR has issued around 2400 national standards covering several sectors.
LIBNOR is taking part in the new ISO Pilot Project on the institutional strengthening of a number of national standardization bodies. The project contributes to achieving one of the outputs of ISO Action Plan for developing countries.
LIBNOR is a public institution affiliated with the Ministry of Industry. It is the sole authority to issue local standards and to give the right to use the Lebanese Conformity Mark (NL Mark).
