$100 million for Tripoli development plan

The Cabinet has allocated $100 million to fund a number of development projects in Tripoli.
The government has recognized that several projects are crucial for the city. Among these is upgrading the infrastructure of the city, in addition to other educational and health-related projects.
The plan includes speeding up work towards realizing the Free Economic Zone, by pursuing the expansion of the Port of Tripoli. This project is expected to create more than 5,000 new jobs.
The government’s plan also includes the rehabilitation of the historic city centers and archeological sites. This objective includes the re-organization of traffic routes and parking areas, the rehabilitation of public spaces and building facades, and the rehabilitation of the Khan el-Askar area.
